Art Scene • “Five & Under” at Arcadia Contemporary

Five and Under, Arcadia Contemporary

After Pastimes for a Lifetime’s‘ successful Portrait Painting Workshop with Eric Armusik last weekend, it was time to put down the brushes and enjoy perusing some remarkably beautiful artwork at Arcadia Contemporary’s Five & Under exhibition.

The gallery opening was held on Saturday, August 17th from 6 – 9 PM at Arcadia Contemporary in Old Town Pasadena. The Five & Under exhibits at Arcadia are my favorite because there is such an array of talent ranging from modern to classical to hyper-realism. There were over 250 original works created by more than 70 artists worldwide with every work in this exhibition priced at $5,000 or less.

Exhibiting artists included:

It was fun bumping into fellow artists and friends, John Brosio and Alexander Chistov. They both had a few pieces in the show! It is always so inspiring talking to such talented, humble artists. Here are some of my favorite photos from the exhibit. Click to enlarge. Hope you enjoy!

What is the meaning of “Five and Under”? At first glance, it would seem to mean that the artist’s age is five years old and under. But that is certainly not the case here.

Looks like a great show, lots of great works. Maybe Linda and I can get over there before the 7th. 🙂

Thanks for asking. “There were over 250 original works created by more than 70 artists worldwide with every work in this exhibition priced at $5,000 or less.” Five and Under refers to the pricing.

What a terrific range of works of art. I enjoyed it all, but the “Lemon and Blossom” painting really got my attention.
